How we ask for your number.

Whispia sends one kind of text message: a passcode you asked for, to prove a phone number is yours. You enter that number in the Whispia app for Android, which is the only place Whispia collects one — the web app signs in with a Whispia ID or an email address and never asks for a phone number. Because the app screens sit behind first-run, the complete flow is published here so it can be checked without installing anything.

  1. Step 1

    The number screen

Opening the Whispia app for the first time. The consent sentence sits under the field, before any code is requested.

Whispia app screen headed 'What's your number?' with an empty phone field and the text: We'll text you a one-time code to verify this number. Message and data rates may apply. Your number is never shared or sold.
  2. Step 2

The user enters their own number

Nothing is sent until the person types their own number and chooses Continue. The disclosure stays on screen.

The same screen with the example number +1 555 0100 entered, the consent text still visible, and a Continue button.
  3. Step 3

    The code they asked for

One message per request. The number is masked back to the user; the code expires in ten minutes.

Whispia app screen headed 'Enter your code' saying a 6-digit code was sent to a masked phone number, with a Verify button.

The consent language, verbatim

Shown beside the number field, before the user continues:

We'll text you a one-time code to verify this number. Message and data rates may apply. Your number is never shared or sold.

The same disclosure appears wherever a number can be added — at sign-up, and when adding a phone to an existing Whispia ID. There is no keyword enrolment: nobody texts a keyword to join, and we add numbers from no other source. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
